You Lose Via Expectations…

When people don't fulfill your expectations, you get hurt. Your undue expectation from people has become one big reason to feel negative.  Therefore, it is imperative to find out why these expectations and from whom are these expectations? Why do you expect and from whom do you expect? In today’s world, you expect from people because you want them to ‘Return the favor back.’ It is an obligation you anticipate from others in exchange for the good things you assume you did for them. It is the reason why you expect a reciprocation. Quickly, you need to understand that if you are counting on every acquaintance to fulfill your expectations, the matter of fact is that you are unreasonable and foolish. Supremely, your expectations could be from the ones whom you love, who are important to you. It might be from the people you care for, whom you respect, the ones with whom you share a strong bond and an active connection. Let's say, people are fulfilling every expectation of yours. But, what we need to comprehend is that everything is perfectly fine until people keep responding as per your expectations. The question is how long you will keep on getting your expectations fulfilled by others? How long will others carry the burden of meeting your expectations? The never-ending expectation process: Be mindful of the fact that the fulfillment of one expectation leads to the urge of the other. Gradually, it leads to an endless flow and to tell the truth, the chain breaks down one day. Yes, your feelings get hurt one day. Sometimes, the volume of that pain soars high to an extent where you tend to shift your perception of people who belong to you. By and by, you even form a negative opinion about those people. You begin to judge those people based on that particular situation in which they did not raise up to your expectation. You start to forget the positives associated with them. In due process, you don’t realize the value of that person in your spirits before this particular incident. And eventually, you lose that person.  Let me bombard a few questions on you... If you are demanding the ideal condition out of a person, are you an ideal person to demand it? How will you feel when you are on the other side of the table? Are you not wrong on your part if you are expecting people to respond according to you? Are you not judging people calling them wrong without knowing about their problems and situations? Maybe, they could have been in their world of problems when you were expecting from them. Or maybe they are the ones dwelling in their own aura and you are not able to perceive it. Sorry for being brutally honest but when you start putting conditions on expectations from others, you are wrong. Put it to yourself and ask yourself how do you feel about those people who impose their expectations on you? And when you are not able to meet their expectations, how do you feel about those judgemental...

Is Thinking Good or Bad?
Straight out, positive thinking is good, while negative thinking is bad. But this answer is not that simple than it appears.  The question, whether thinking is good or bad, is a very subjective question. It is subjective because the answer to it varies from person to person, and situation to situation. Most of us might have answers to this question based on our real-life experiences. According to people who have sweet memories attached to thinking, thinking might have a positive connotation. Likewise, thinking can have a negative interpretation in the opinion of people who have been often hit by thinking adversely.  Let us try to analyze the two conditions when thinking is good.  1. FAVOURABLE CONDITION Practically, when situations are favorable and everything in the personal and professional sphere is happening according to you, your approach towards life-situations is positive by default. Yes, your thinking is bound to be bright and spirited. It is because the dark side/ negative side of the mind is untouched, and you are not tested. 2. DEMANDING CONDITION There are also situations which demand thinking; the state of affairs where thinking is an essence. Few instances...a student solving a mathematical problem will obviously require thinking. A teenager obviously needs to think about his/her career opportunities. An artist, a blogger, a businessman, a serviceman, all require thinking in their professional spheres. In these instances, your mind is thinking productively and therefore emits positivity. Now, let us try to comprehend the conditions when thinking is bad. 1. HOSTILE CONDITION The mind often falls prey to the unfriendly situations where you are unable to cope with the unfavorable changes. Unexpected daily-life problems, failures and losses, mishaps and misfortunes are some of the situations when your mind is not able to sink in the turnaround. Your best friend Stress is always with you in these situations. Subsequently, thoughts, which are obviously negative at that time, does not allow you to move on. Finally, your mind gets stuck with those thoughts and positivity is denied. 2. IDLE CONDITION You might undergo phases and situations in life when you are not doing anything. Even in everyday life, you are not working all the time. That particular time(the idle time) does not demand thinking. Avoidance of thinking is a must at this very time. On the contrary, instead of feeling the moments of solitude, you consume the mental energies in unnecessary thinking. By and by, components like inner self-complexities and insecurities begin to add fuel to your thoughts. Finally, grudges, jealousies, comparisons are the extracts from the negative thinking, evolving out of idleness. No wonder, positivity is denied. Time for some Happy Realizations... Positive/productive thinking is a boon while idle/unproductive thinking is a bane. Positive thinking can make you while negative thinking can break you. What is an aura? According to the Oxford Dictionary, the definition of aura is “the distinctive atmosphere or quality that seems to surround and be generated by a person, thing, or place.” If you ask me in simple words, your aura is the surrounding energy you create by your presence. Wherever you are and whatever you do, your aura always surrounds you. So you can say your presence is the creator of your aura. More powerful your presence, more dominant your aura. Similarly, your inactive presence lowers the intensity of your aura.  There are many reasons why it is important to raise the intensity of your aura: To be yourself... When your aura is strong, your appearance is not deceptive, and showcase what you are. It authenticates your individuality and originality. To take your independent decisions... Powerful aura powers self-belief. And when you believe in yourself, you are not afraid of taking bold and independent decisions. To say NO to others... You are not under people’s influence when the presence of your aura is strong. You don’t get carried away by them, which is difficult otherwise. To test the boundaries of your comfort zone... Your self-motivation keeps you ready to confront new challenges, which enhances your personal and professional growth.  To stop being a soft target for others... You never get attacked by others, never get bullied and nobody takes you for granted.   To become a proposer, not a seconder... When your aura is strong, you initiate things in your personal and professional sphere. You never play the waiting game. This way, you enforce your aura on others. To stop being a puppet of others... People cannot make you dance to their tunes. They cannot take undue advantages from you either. To become a leader, not a follower... You attract people by your aura. And the queue is always behind you. To follow your dreams and passion... Following dreams and passion is difficult. You need to be strong and ready to endure. Convert the feeling of loneliness into solitude

Supremely, you need to understand that both the feelings ‘lonely’ and ‘solitude’ are two sides of the same coin. Solitude is a positive feeling which is entirely your choice. It is the feeling of completeness one derives by loving and enjoying one’s own company.  On the contrary, the feeling of loneliness has a negative connotation where you are full of insecurities and find yourself deserted even in the crowd. When you feel lonely, you neither enjoy others’ company nor cherish your own company. The feeling of solitude is an unmatched magical feeling while there is nothing worse than the feeling of loneliness. In both the feelings, you feel no one around you but interestingly, you love solitude but you hate loneliness. Fight with loneliness: Do not fear the loneliness. Accept it and face it. Unless you realize that you are lonely, you cannot find the reasons for the same. The feeling of loneliness is independent of people and situations. Agreed, sour experiences with people or unfavorable situations might be reasons for loneliness, but it is your responsibility to bail yourself out from it. The positive side of loneliness: Yes, you read it right. Friends, it is when you are lonely, you can get hit by some strong in-depth realizations. To realize them, you need the courage to listen to your inner voice.  The realizations you explore during your loneliness are profound life lessons. It might be hard for you to accept but it is always better to know yourself by yourself than to get a pinch from the outside world.  Loneliness helps you connect to your inner world where you can explore your weaknesses. During this time, you also come across bitter realities about yourself and the outside world. These realizations give you strength to deal with it so that you convert your loneliness into solitude. Realizations: In this fast-moving world, not everyone gets the time to know oneself. If you are one of those lucky ones who gets time to get hit by in-depth self-realizations, be brave enough not to lose the opportunity. It is equally important to work on the areas of concern and move out of loneliness at the earliest. It is because loneliness can be dangerous. The longer the period of loneliness, the deeper you sink in the world of darkness. Act smart, act on it before it acts on you. Never try to run away from it because you can never escape from yourself. Take it head-on where you can explore the reasons for your self-hatred and convert it into self-love. Happiness is awareness and appreciation of the now

Some of us are busy equating happiness to the past instances while many are awaiting the happiness in the future. Only a few of us are able to realize that happiness is right here, right now in the present moment. If you don't belong to this minority category, this article is a must-read for you. I say so to make you realize that the past cannot be changed, likewise, the future cannot be controlled. You can only take care of the things happening NOW. Pessimists are stressed because they are not able to solve problems which doesn’t even exist.

My dear friend, you need to see the bright side of things no matter what. The desired outcome will occur only when you believe it to happen. Creating a shadow of doubt means questioning your ability. Never waste your time counting the possibility of the chances. Just do it. If it is possible, it will happen. Even if it's not, surely, it will make you experienced. Rest assured, you never lose in any of the conditions. Summon into minds; You cannot turn into a pessimist overnight. A single situation is not mighty enough to convert you into a pessimist unless you reciprocate the same feeling for that particular situation. I shall explain to you how... A few instances... Say, you failed in an exam or lost a sports match or suffered a business loss. Other instances, you did not qualify a job interview, or you did not get the desired appreciation, or maybe a decision proving wrong, and much such life hitches. The subsequent process: These life-situations infuse a negative thought inside your mind. In due course, one negative thought triggers your over-thinking mode, wherein you keep on thinking of that loss/failure. Suddenly, it starts reflecting in your attitude. By and by, you begin to criticize people and blame your destiny for anything unfavorable to you. You start thinking that you are worthless, which converts into a firm belief. You feel that you cannot win or succeed. Eventually, you develop a mindset where you begin to find failures even in your success, Yes, even if there is no reason to feel stressed, you try to find one. Even if you feel happy, you believe it to be an illusion. You keep on losing thereon and eventually turn into a pessimist. You know pessimists do have a unique ability... It is the ability to find a problem even in a solution. They do not breathe free or break free. They get caged in their world full of wrong beliefs and negativity. They do not want to expand the boundaries of their comfort zone because of their apprehensions. They fear anything and everything and where there is fear, your approach to situations can never be positive. Yes, pessimists try to find out problems rather than finding solutions. Time for some Happy Realizations... No wonder, life hits you hard. It is full of uncertainties and unpredictabilities. Situations will not always be favorable to you. You cannot always control losses,  failures, mishaps or misfortunes. Nevertheless, you are the in-charge of how to perceive those situations. What matters the most is how you accept it and deal with it. The approach and the mindset in these situations distinguish between an optimist and a pessimist. Most of you are familiar with the proverb “A jack of all cards but master of none.” But do you know it's in-depth meaning? Let us sink in deep into its connotation to connect with this article intensely. Customarily, this proverb is used to signify people who have some knowledge in many fields but do not have expertise in a specific domain. More often than not, people use this proverb sarcastically. My personal realizations: There was a time when I used to get extremely demotivated by this proverb. I was going through a rough patch in my life. I was facing some serious difficulties in discovering my domain of passion. It was the phase when people used to shoot this proverb at me the most. These people were no one but my so-called loved ones. My ears got tired of listening to it. They used to tell it casually, never realized the intensity I got affected by it. You know why I used to get hurt so badly? It is because somewhere I knew they were not wrong by saying so. It felt like someone is rubbing salt in my open wounds, and I am bound to bear it. I could sense this proverb pointing fingers at me and saying “ You are a loser.”  I started feeling depressed. It is because there wasn’t any field in which I could feel that I am the best. One morning I sensed that overthinking has started taking a toll on my mental health. I realized that before it entirely ruins my mental health, I need to alter my outlook towards life. I started to meditate, which was not easy initially. I kept on practicing it daily. Gradually, I started enjoying it. I sensed my way of thinking change and began to feel optimistic. One day when I was meditating, I fathomed a realization. It made me feel positive, energetic and excited. It was nothing but the positive connotation of the proverb “A jack of all cards and master of none,” which shouted: “A jack of all cards can compete with four kings.” The connotation of  "A jack of all cards can compete with four kings" Even if you have little knowledge in every field, it implies you have all the choices available to explore the domain which pulls your interest the most. Of course, you would find many people better than you in every field. But if you are a jack of all cards, surprisingly, it means all the choices are available to you. It can turn out to be a blessing in disguise for you. You don't need to do anything special. You just need to have a positive mindset. You just have to explore your inside and target the right field, which you have been neglecting till...

WHAT INDUCES STRESS AND HOW TO OVERCOME IT?

Life is full of complications and uncertainties. The problem buffers when you start looking at life situations as a mountain to climb. Subsequently, it induces stress. In other words, a problem is never an issue until stress is attached to it. So, what can be done to avoid stress? Well, most important thing you can do is make some changes in our lifestyle. Following are some of the ways to stay away from stress: Wake up half an hour early so that you give some time to yourself. Do some exercise or play a sport. It detoxifies your body and mind. Organize yourself for the day. Set small targets instead of planning the whole day. Unexpected work always pops out from somewhere. There is nothing much you can do about it. Take it as a challenge. Always save some energy for those challenges.  Take a balanced diet. What to eat, when to eat and how much to eat; these are critical factors regulating stress. Alcohol is a deceptive stress buster. Avoid it, but even if you are consuming it, the quantity should be moderate. Moreover, never become dependent on it. Remember, Meditation is a potent tool to distress you. Devote some patient time to it every day. Avoid doing things which you don't like. Stay away from negative people. Yes, learn to SAY NO to stay away from stress. Don't sit idle. Indulge in any kind of productive activity. Always prioritize your family and friends over work.

When a baby is born, the foremost thing done by a doctor is to make sure the baby cries. Well, this implies crying itself is a sign of life. It is a gift of nature to heal ourselves. When we express our feelings (positive as well as negative), tears are the best expressions. Tears can be of joy or sadness. In both the conditions, they help us. In fact, they remind us that we are humans, not robots. Moreover, they also assist us in moving on from a situation. Let us try to ponder upon of a situation from where we want to move on. We should have experienced that crying often helps in moving out of that situation. It’s the first sign that we want to heal ourselves. Rest assured, it is the sign of strength and not of weakness. Women, one of the best creations of God are the perfect example of it. Why are they perfectly balanced and stable in every situation? Well, we know the answer very well. Well, there are also people who use tears as a shield to get rid of situations without facing it. It is nothing but the inability to face the problems. It never does any good. In short, negative thoughts, stress, expectations, idleness are some of the many reasons leading to depression. Well, we must always try to find out the source of our negative thoughts and then act on it. Please do refer this post to understand the flow of negativity. Recognition is a very important motivational tool.  Learning to say “NO” is also equally important. We must never overburden ourselves with work or thinking. Work should always be enjoyed. Remember, fighting depression is a continuous process. Never expect miracles overnight.
